The Magic Visual

Back in 2021, “Visual Twitter” was a tiny corner of the internet — a handful of people like Visualize Value and Behavior Gap turning ideas into simple, shareable images and quietly getting enormous off the back of it. I posted a 100-tweet thread on how to actually make visuals that work, it did well, and I realised I had a lot more to say. So I turned it into a book.
The Magic Visual is a reference guide for making images that, per the subtitle I gave it at the time, “hit like a freight train and get noticed like a news story.” The theory, the patterns that get shared, the rules, and a load of examples — the why behind a good visual, not just the how. 178 pages of it.
It’s the most designer-brained thing I’ve written, and the only one that made it onto actual paper, through Lulu — so there’s a physical copy on Amazon if you’d rather hold it than read it off a screen.
