Read the blog I kept — HND'ed »
Before any of the jobs, there was the HND — a Higher National Diploma in Interactive Media at Wakefield College, from 2006 to 2008. The proper beginning of all this.
I’d come off the back of A Levels — Sociology, English Language and ICT — bored stiff of exams and classrooms, and desperate for something hands-on. I’d always been quietly obsessed with websites (my first one ever was for my local American football team), so when I saw a poster for this course up at Wakefield College, that was that.
I blogged the entire two years, in a blog I called HND’ed — 79 posts of me working it all out. Reading it back, the daft voice was already there. It’s also where I learned just enough to blag my way into Nexus Rental halfway through, with a made-up portfolio and a lot of nerve.
